Walk thru a toy store thru the eyes of a toddler
Went to Babies R Us last night with my daughters and 3 year old grandson to help my oldest daughter do her baby registry. While the two girls worked on the registry I took my little guy over to the toys in the attached store Toys R Us. I found it amusing and interesting all wrapped into one. I was letting him pick out a toy that gram would buy him. He looked and looked. Touched, looked in awe, and even picked up to end up putting down later when he found something else caught his eye. One of the things that he had played with on the shelf was a car that you pushed something and the whole car would light up and change colors. He was in awe with it. I actually believe I heard him gasp for air when it would change colors. First he would push the button on the blue car, it lit green. He pushed it a couple times over and with each push and light he would be in his glory. He then moved on to the yellow car which turned red when it was lit up and each time it lit up and changed colors he was all joy inside. How cool would it be if adults experienced this kind of joy and amazement in something every day out of something so simple. Is it because we aren't enjoying the simple things as we once did and get caught up with the hurries through the day. He moved on, up and down the aisles and ended up settling on Rocky and his recycling truck from the Paw Patrol cartoon. We even picked up Sky and her helicopter for his sister. He carried them around the store as he continued to look at the rest of the toys and apparently he had what he wanted because we ended up going home with Rocky and Sky. Amazing how simple and joyful life is through the eyes of a 3 yr old. Take sometime out of your day for just a few minutes and enjoy one simple things each day. See how long it takes you to just start doing it automatically throughout the whole day. Life is indeed good!
